Behind the Design

Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, with a degree in Architecture from University of California, Berkeley, my academic foundation focused on the social and cultural dimensions of design, as well as theory, criticism, and ethics. From the start, my approach to architecture has been rooted in the belief that design is a shared tool for fostering connection, advocating for equity, and enabling transformation.

Over the past decade, I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside diverse teams and visionary clients, leading projects from early concept through completion across strategy, brand development, and interior architecture. While at IA Interior Architects, I partnered with industry leaders such as Google, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Industrious to shape future-facing workplace environments. My time with Kinzo Architekten GmbH in Berlin further strengthened this collaborative focus, consulting with designers to co-develop strategic design frameworks that support organizational growth.

In recent years at NBBJ, my work has centered on healthcare and hospitality design. As a Senior Interior Designer, I contributed to and led multidisciplinary teams on projects for Boston Properties, the University of Utah, and the Huntsman Institute. I also collaborated with University of California, San Francisco to develop campus-wide Interior Design Standards, bringing together web developers, strategists, and design teams to build a digital platform for long-term guidance. One highlight from this partnership was the 6,500 sq ft UCSF Pediatric Stad Center—a healing-focused pediatric center, recognized with the 2025 Interior Architecture Honors Award by AIA San Francisco. Learn more about the award here.

Across all projects, I aim to balance systems thinking with a collaborative eye for detail—working closely with clients, consultants, and creative teams to curate finishes, furniture, and fixtures that enhance both functionality and experience.

A commitment to social impact continues to inform my practice. One example is a grassroots initiative that brought together over 100 volunteers to build micro-homes for San Francisco’s unhoused community—an effort that gained national coverage from MSNBC, Fox News, and The Guardian. Learn more about the project here.

My interest in regenerative systems and the human relationship with nature led me to complete a Permaculture Certification through the UK Permaculture Association. These principles now inform a deeper inquiry into neuroarchitecture and biophilic design.

I embrace a systemic, interdisciplinary approach—analyzing the environmental, social, political, and economic contexts that shape the built environment. As part of this evolving practice, I am actively exploring how AI tools can support and enrich collaborative design processes, unlocking new possibilities for the future of architecture.
